Conveniently placed just 10 mins tram journey (lines 9 & 14) from the centre of Zurich. Clean modern room and tidy hotel generally with some off street parking available. Would stay here again.

Crikey we had some rain today. It wasn't raining too heavily as we ventured out to the Swiss National Museum here in Zurich, but while we were inside it really emptied down and kept on coming! Samson wan't particularly happy about being dragged around a museum, but I certainly found it interesting. An hour or so passed fairly quickly as we …

We left Interlaken this morning, calling in at the Lidl to stock up on bottled water. Navigating the store is so easy - it is laid out identical to the Lidl in Portishead! I even took a look at the weekly offers :-) We took an indirect route to Zurich stopping off at the lakeside town of Brunnen. The plan was to visit the Victorinox visitor centre …

... to Zurich we headed with the Satnav set to avoid all motorways. Taking the back roads tripled the journey length, but we were ok with that as long as it meant we actually made it to Zurich. We crossed our fingers that the roads would be as flat as possible - hills were not Mr Blacks friend. After a long and thankfully flat and uneventful journey we made it to Zurich. First stop Peugeot garage. After another assessment by the garage men they reset the computer and said we had a ...

... city!! But we walked to the old section and that was great. Our hotel is just a hop skip and jump from the lake - not that any of are quite that agile now! The 90+ temperature is overbearing but the gelato helped. The we followed instructions to drink liquids and had a nice white merlot. Had a wonderful dinner by the lake and toasted former, and new, friends. Up early tomorrow for a long day returning home, and we are all ready to be ...

... Now, I have taken my fair share of Vline (country Victoria trains) and let me tell you, there are no family carriages!! I think that all trains should have family cars as they are a great idea.

Lucerne was home to another chocolate chain where they mixed all kinds of different delicious ingredients into Swiss chocolate. They had a large retail outlet at the station and Mum and Dad promised we would return to that ...
