    ... to Zurich we headed with the Satnav set to avoid all motorways. Taking the back roads tripled the journey length, but we were ok with that as long as it meant we actually made it to Zurich. We crossed our fingers that the roads would be as flat as possible - hills were not Mr Blacks friend. After a long and thankfully flat and uneventful journey we made it to Zurich.     ... city!! But we walked to the old section and that was great. Our hotel is just a hop skip and jump from the lake - not that any of are quite that agile now! The 90+ temperature is overbearing but the gelato helped. The we followed instructions to drink liquids and had a nice white merlot. Had a wonderful dinner by the lake and toasted former, and new, friends. Up early tomorrow for a long day returning home, and we are all ready to be ...

    I had a quick walk along the main shopping district in Zurich, it really is teeming with money. Russian oligarch's in there Astons and Ferraris walking out of boutique stores with boxes upon boxes of fur coats. I need to come back to Switzerland in the future and buy an expensive watch.... IWC, I think ha ha.
