... for Christmas and the atmosphere was very calm and peaceful, unlike the hurly burly in the summer months when it is full of day trippers.
The theatre has such a beautiful setting, but Etna was a little shaded by cloud although clearly visible to the naked eye, wit ha little smoke rising from it's peak. Unfortunately only the close up photos showed it off well. And we were lucky, it erupted a couple of days later!

The Sicilian Fly-By and Swiss Fighter Intercept
This morning we caught a C-130 {slow propeller cargo plane} to Sicily. We landed and found that there is a flight to Germany in a couple hours. Tomorrow there are five or so flights to the East Coast. We are going to forgo exploring Sicily and opt to catch a flight to the US from Germany, and return to explore Sicily some future summer.....Susan really wants to try ...
Pompei to the boot
... highways, we even saw a 3 story building with no doors, roof or windows and was chocked full of rubbish bags. You must google 'naples rubbish problem' and you will be astounded.
Anyway back to our main story, we drove into Pozzallo and found our hotel, nice, new small place on main street. Pozzallo was our stop to return car, stay the night and hop on 9.15am ferry to Malta the next morning.

The Lady
... Sicily to complete further studies in the hope of being employed. A very bad situation in Spain amongst other European countries at the moment, the Uni system is very good and open to all, not very expensive at all but there are no job opportunities out there at completion of studies. I am positive that this young lady although immaculately groomed had nits! I kid you not my kids had them once (ask my sister) and I am positive I could see eggs ...
