... fractured translation of an already operatic plot was unlikely to clarify anything, (eg. 'Rinaldo approaches the gates of the fortress to defy Trufaldino and comes face to face with Marfisa, who hates Angelica, her father as well as the evil Trufaldino.') I decided to sit back and enjoy the portrayal of the 14 puppet characters. It really was entertaining, and the skill required to bring these large painted dolls to life was breathtaking. If we thought there were plenty of steps in Venice we soon discovered there are plenty more in Valletta. We are at the top of the hill near the national war museum. Today ...

Turned out I didn't feel so well so after breakfast we returned to the room to read, write emails, etc. While I had a nap G did some study. We moved to the pool for lunch and some relaxing mid afternoon. By late afternoon I was feeling better so we still managed to have dinner at the terrace restaurant and knock off another bottle of ...

... a fantasy ballet/ musical that included some Cirque du Soleil type acrobatics. All good... PS As I have no photos today, I attach samples of 'towel art', an integral part of cruising culture. Each night when your steward turns down the covers, he leaves chocolates and a piece of towel art!! So if origami is ho-hum for you, this art-form could be the challenge you need. They even sell the Holland America Towel Art Book. (Seriously! This is not a ...
