    While in Dahab, we also completed our deep diving course, certifying us to dive to 40 metres depth. One of the skills required for completion of the deep diving course was to write our name backwards at depth underwater while being timed. The rational for completing such a silly task is to monitor for the effects of nitrogen narcosis. Needless to say that I was able to write my name 10 seconds faster underwater at 40m than on ...

    ... time. People here are a mixture of friendly and hostile, but when they're friendly you don't know if they're trying to trick you... The scenery though is amazing. To get to the dive site today we rode in the back of a truck round the outskirts of dahab, mountains stretching off in every direction as far as the eye could see.
