... like the middle of nowhere. As it turns out if you take the direct route it's only a 10 minute drive to Lake Garda. So armed with 2 maps from the delightful Moreno we headed to Milralago for a lovely dinner with fantastic views. From the restaurant Jago spotted 2 football pitches, AC Garda. So the boys had a kick around and I went to check out the nearby pool. Then we drove to ...

... a number of ski lifts. After seeing nobody walking up the mountain, I was surprised to see lots of people at the top. Then I spotted parked cars. I had a bit of a rant about the people we passed along the lines of "I bet they haven’t just climbed up 1200 metres to get to the top!" I felt very aggrieved. ... looking the lake and back down, and down and round and down!!!!! Taking in stunning views, a walk to a hermitage retreat and monestery and a beautiful Romanesque church. Spent the afternoon in the garden, Al Lago before our final dinner in the hotel. Tomorrow, we head off after breakfast , quick stop off in the town of Salo at the bottom of the lake before returning our trusty Italian stallion hire car ( or similar ) and flight home. Now seems as good a time as any to reveal that ...

Modena - my day to remember!

Set off for Modena this morning - Ferrari country!!!! Actually, the region is home to Lamborghini, Maserati, Bugatti and Ducatti as well, and so I was hoping that our visit to the Enzo Ferrari Museum would give me enough time for a decent look around! We have spent eons looking at ancient churches, castles and buildings etc. and as lovely as they are, I am totally over them!!!!
So I endured an hour of central Modena with its large Cathedral and cobblestones, before we found ...
