... of local wine and a tankard of beer at a street café overlooking the ocean and yacht basin – some of the boats in the 100 foot and up length. Then we walked down the road along the harbour until we found a bus stop and made our way back to the ship. On the way, we found a duty free shop and bought bottles of wine and champagne. Liquor on board the ship is not included and we thought we couldn’t even bring ...
Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain suzanne-norman... much more time shopping then I would have so I kept darting off to explore some of the side streets while they were debating with themselves on what to spend their money on.
Later in the afternoon, I met up with Stee and we went to visit the Castillo de Belver, an unusual round fortress on the hilltop overlooking the harbor.
We didn’t have the change to visit another dance club on Thursday night since we departed Palma around midnight.
... cave tour we took the heli to the yacht which was approaching Minorca island when we landed aboard. It was close to 6 PM, so we washed up and had dinner on the sun deck at 7 PM while we watched the sunset and as we entered long entrance to the Mahón harbor, the second deepest natural harbor in the world.
Porto Cristo, Balearic Islands, Spain and Canary Islands mylifesjourneyThe night before all of the guests, Stee and I went to a dance club in Ibiza. We didn't arrive back onboard until close to 7 AM. We then began our cruise to Mallorca, the island just north of Ibiza. The crew had food for those who were hungry, but most of us went straight to bed.
Just after noon, around five hours later, we arrived off the coast of the playa ex pregons gran, a nudist beach just a few ...
... up at me and stare. I ask in Spanish if anyone is working there. No reply. My Spanish can’t be that bad. Someone finally shows me a buzzer at the entrance. It turns out that there is a large group of mentally challenged people from France. The person working at the hostel says that there is a bed available. Yeah! It is $22 including breakfast. It is also 2 blocks from the beach in the main beach area, Playa de Palma.

... morning the air was cooler and the sky was hung over from the tempest of the night before and even though the weather wasn't ideal, Ed and I rushed to the beach to catch some sun rays. I was surprised to see the water wasn't as clear and still as it always was, but rather dirty and agitated. Where there were usually no waves, now the violent angry whirls of sea water broke on the rocky edges of the cove. Garbage and sea ...
Porto Petro, Spain zento... The destinations are vast and the plans are elaborate, but I haven't heard anyone mention they would like to stay during the winter. Apparently, the street lights illuminating the marina aren't even turned on during the winter-time; that's how desolated this place becomes. A curious contrast to the dynamic and animated flair of the Summer. Ed and I are planning on packing up and leaving the first week of October. The destination ...
Porto Petro, Spain zento... Ed has been let go from his current job, due to the decrease of tourists and hence, incoming money. This was a bombshell but ended up being a pleasant surprise for Ed who yearned for free time for himself. He'd desperately been wanting to spend an entire day at the beach with me or have dinner out together. Now that we're able to spend more free time together he's more than happy to say goodbye to his swift employers. So this week ...
Porto Petro, Spain zento... I mean how hard can it be to keep track of the orders in a computer, print out the checks and give back change? I was in for an awful surprise. Most of the 6 hours I worked I was on the verge of tears at the screw ups and miscalculations I made. It seems easy theoretically, but keeping the cash register balanced, having to calculate added value taxes and making sure I was charging the correct things to the correct ...
Porto Petro, Spain zento... fled with Bernie to the nearest restaurant to see if they would sell us beer cans to go. Luckily they did. We just got a few cause neither of us were planning on drinking too much. All we wanted was to dance. Slowly but surely, people started coming in, and even people that walked past in the street heard the music and wanted to enter, but we had to tell them it was a private party, no strangers allowed. Just as I expected, Ed ...
