I had written down the different stations we were going to pass so we would know when we were getting close, as well as the timing.

We had upgraded to first class because we were on a regional train and during our sojourn in Berlin, the regional had very ...
Szczecin, Baltic Coast, Poland carpefeline... she thought she was being sneaky I could only look in horror as I heard the familiar camera click. Luckily they either didn't notice or care, its funny to think back now but at the time I couldn't believe she thought it was a good idea, but I have to give her credit it was a funny picture!

So thats been the main highlight of north Poland, its a remote part of the country in places and the majority has been driving between crowded towns and then deserted villages with long ...
Szczecin, West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland piholland... a sharp right, as if he could see out of the back of his head, and kept walking towards the tram stop a few meters in front of him. We all breathed a partial sigh of relief and walked a little faster to catch back up to him. He told us what we needed to do to get to the hostel from there which we assumed meant that he was going to leave us there and go back to the train yard or something, but instead of leaving after he told us where we needed to go, he just stood ...

Torgelow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany nayda_dew... bombed during WWII and it was never repaired. Recently a Radisson Hotel opened up that became the biggest building in the city, which angered the church going population. They have since started reconstruction on the church in addition to building a new steeple, one that will be taller than the Radisson Hotel. We went out for a drink one night after the Poland vs. Austria soccer game in the New Old Town, an area where there was once the Old ...
Szczecin, Baltic Coast, Poland durnadupa... after WW2), great parks and a spacious city center. I really had a good first impression about Poland. Day 4 After some late night partying the night before (and probably too much beer!) I was feeling more tired than ever and had a slight hang over. For that reason we didn't do any heavy sightseeing, instead we spent our time strolling around the park close to the city hall and finished our day visiting the cemetery (spooky!), the largest in Europe according to locals.
Szczecin, Poland gbasilio... noemen.
Szczecin, Poland thorgal67... pace also worked to our advantage : we could take a picknick and try one of the Polish national dishes : Bigos...a dish made with sauerkraut. In the evening we arrived at Anna and Tomek's in Szczecin (very difficult to pronounce - we are not responsible for any damage to your tongue), and they served us wonderful chocolate cake and cherries with alcohol. After that we visited the city and had a beer in a film café.
