It was a little over 20 km from the train station to get to Yudanaka and the snow monkeys and I took a route that ran up by the side of the mountain and through fields of fruit trees. The view of the valley below and the mountains rising sharply above it was gorgeous.

The elephant made of paper is very large and being pulled by the boys with help of adults. We watch them parade around the Yubatake and go up the old, stone staircase to the Temple.
