... French takeaway seems to involve bread and pastry. Armed with appalling coffee, ham, cheese and rice crackers he was feeling pretty competent he had averted a crisis and he had earned a few brownie points. ... truly heavenly the fresh chocolate croissant was. Yum.

Today had a morning bus tour of the city, which was really great for the girls to get a good overview of this beautiful town. Most of the group was going on an optional tour of Versailles, so we were dropped off at the Eiffel Tour with a metro ticket and map...and off we went. I am so glad I had the training ...

... as limited numbers are allowed in at one time. After spending about 5 hours on the Champs-Élysées, we head back on the train to Auber and stop in at Galleries Lafayette, an enormous department store close to our hotel that we had not previously explored. This is truly a unique experience, with the Homme (mens) shop on one side of the road taking up a full 3 level building, and the Femme (womens) shop on the other taking up 5 levels, with children's clothing taking an additional ...
