... in Place de la Bastille. As you guys probably know, the actual Bastille was demolished shortly after it was stormed in 1789, so there isn't any building there to see. They ended up using the stones from the fortress to build one of the bridges across the Seine. What is there now is an enormous square with a statue and a very big modern opera house, the Opera Bastille.

... VERY ANNOYING.GENERALLYTHE VISA CARD HAS WORKED WELL I CAN ONLY RECALL ONE BANK WHERE THE CARD DIDN'T WORK. THE MONEY MACHINES ARE INTERESTING IN THAT IN EUROPE YOU CAN SELECT THE LANGUAGE THAT YOU WANT- IT CERTAINLY MAKES IT EASIER. WE ALSO FOUND THAT YOU COULD GET ANY AMOUNT OF MONEY NOT JUST THE AMOUNTS THAT COME UP ON THE SCREEN.TOMORROW WE ARE THINKING OF A RIVER CRUISE ON THE SIENA. AND I HAVE WORKED
