    ... Lambrusco they had got from a supermarket. Very fun trip. When we got off we waited for them, took selfie photos and hugged goodbye to go our separate ways. This finished about 7.15pm. There was also an English couple who had been in their gondola who very also very nice. Short walk back to the restaurant Giovanni had recommended yesterday and we had made a booking for 8 o'clock earlier in the day. We were a bit worried when we got there as all the tables on the canal were gone ...

    We enjoyed champagne cocktails and had personal tours through her home/now museum. A special thanks to Liam, the docent who guided our group through the museum. His enthusiasm was infectious and he made the tour an informative and memorable one.

    ... filled with expensive shops. Since we shopped our way there, we got there a bit later, and then took a super long tour of the area. We all shopped and had a great time. After this it was clear it was about to downpour, so we took an early dinner (super early. Like 6 o'clock compared to our usual 8 or 9 o'clock) and ate slowly to wait out the rain. By the time we left, the rain was just finishing up and we had missed the majority of the storm, but Venice was almost abandoned. ...

    ... saw chess sets made like Romans vs Barbarians, and dogs vs cats. We then entered St Marks, to find large puddles at "acqua alto" and the adventure of walking on the board ways. We went to St Marks, and admired the mosaics of gold. Then we went up the campanile - the symbolic bell tower. It is a reconstruction - the original fell down in 1902, leaving a 12m pile of debris but not damaging any surrounding buildings or inhabitants! The views from the tower were amazing - really helped ...

    ... are still impressive. We climbed up to the Museum as the cashier was closing AND he was turning people away BUT he let us in (yippee!). So glad he did because the view from the top of the church was so cool!!! The bronze horses were Robin's favorite because she couldn't stop looking at them.
