Venice - Ship Emarkation

A travel blog entry by stephen.glenda

We'll just sitting at the hotel and getting ready to take our bags to the ship. We've been to Verona yesterday and Burano the day we arrived. It's cool here and today it's raining. Supposed to rain tomorrow which is very disappointing as the only port I was really excited about was Dubrovnik. It's a tender port so probably won't stop if it's raining. Very upsetting. A quick drop-off of the rucksacks (we'd heeded David's advice to leave the cases on the bus) and we were off to St Mark's square. St ...

... surrounds, we had a reservation at a campground in Pompeii, so it was back in the car and another hour driving south. Ancient, destroyed Pompeii and modern Pompeii are close to Naples, so we were following the motorway, for a fee of course. Then the motorway promptly collapsed into roadworks and took on a distinctly rustic feel. Then our GPS told us to exit, and things then quickly went pear shaped from there.

You may recall earlier that I mentioned the Italian drivers. Well, as ...
