... dinner. Store hours are very strange here. There was a big mountain run today with lots of visiting competitors, but none of the outdoor stores were open. In fact, they all closed down around 1 pm on Saturday. Half the stores are closed Saturday afternoon and nothing is open Sunday, which is strange for a tourist town. Tomorrow we are off to Solden. Laura is leaving for Germany today for her school ...

... as expensive here as Switzerland was last year. Kitzbuhel is the birthplace of Toni Sailer who is the only person to have swept all three ski races at the Olympics, back in the 50's in Cortina. We saw his house, which is well marked for tourists. Every Wednesday night during the summer there is entertainment in the town centre. We went after dinner even though it was pouring rain. Traditional Austrian band on stage but we didn't stay ...

Went back to the hotel again for lunch and went to Hornpark for the afternoon. It is up the Kitzbühler Horn. It is an obstacle course up in the trees with zip lines etc. lads loved ...

    Day 2

Fine weather again. Up breakfast and headed for Tirassic Park. About 20 mins away by car then gondola trip up the mountain to get there. Interesting place and loads to do for the kids. Ate lunch in a typical alpine restaurant. Went from there to Hexenwasser in Soll. Took the gondola up to it again. This was basically a circuit where the theme was water and it was where a witch lived. Great fun ...
