... no street or road signs. I mean NONE. Not a highway number, not a street name, just highways. And if you ask directions (if they speak English or Alex can understand their Greek) they will say, well, go straight and then go right and then go left. They might give you a distance in meters or they might not. Occasionally we would see a sign that said Fira and had an arrow. Never a distance. I spent so much time lost it isn’t even funny. Thankfully, Jeff ...

Really good ferry journey from Paros to Santorini, stopping at Naxos and Ios on the way. Three hours but we could sit outside in the open all the way. Next to me was an elderly Greek couple. She was talking to him non stop when we got on, and she was still going, never having let up, when we arrived in santorini. Three hours and I think he said two words! There was a natural food store next door and we went and checked it out. Found a piece of fish that looked like tilapia and was very reasonably priced.

Back to the room and fixed one of the best meals we had while we were there. Salad, broccoli and pasta with homemade alfredo sauce and the fish lightly browned along with a glass of wine.

... BBQ here. Water vapour and some gases come out from hot gas vents in sections around the rim but nothing to indicate that our time is up right here right now, they say another little cough is due on average in fifteen years. How do you turn cold water into hot water, buy a bottle on the boat and not drink it until you reach the summit! Once conquered we motor around to the other side of this island on the promise of hot springs. Once in the general vicinity we are informed that due ...

... there when I remember to. Some of the most beautiful vistas I have seen are driving down the highway, right on the cliff’s edge, where I couldn’t stop to take a picture even if I wanted to. When you look at the pics make sure you look for a person or car to put the size of it all into perspective. It also smells incredible here. It is kind of like a mix of sauna and cottage and herbs. As best I can tell. It is against Greek law to not ...
