Buffet Breakfasts and Shopping Malls in Calicut
Although we thought we were catching a single bus to Kozhikode (named Calicut by the English- slightly easier to pronounce) what we got was a three bus saga. At random intervals the Keralans would push and squeeze past us to run onto a new bus and grab a seat. Most sneakily slid past us, without indicating that there was a change in buses and one woman even pulled Jasmine back off a bus so her friend could push past. Needless to say we never quite got a seat.

Day 2: The Backwaters
... and soon after we saw a sign signalling a certain back waters jetty about 3 KM on the right. We promptly turned towards it and at 10:20 am Ameet was negotiating with the manager / owner for a short cruise for the four of us. He managed to strike a deal for 1 hour boat ride for Rs. 3000 with snacks.
