We stayed two nights and had a wonderful stay. The Nayara suite had wooden floors, canopy beds, marble bathroom and secluded private garden with magnificent view of Volcan Arenal. Staff were great and the food delightful, especially the banana flambé courtesy of Juan Carlos, known to everyone as JC. He made our visit! Highly recommended.

Boy, was this luxurious! Our room was sort of hexagonol and absolutely vast with a wonderful balcony overlooking the volcano (unfortunately, it was shrouded in mist!) and with a hot tub. The restaurant was excellent, as was the food, and there are lots of places in the beautiful gardens to sit and relax. The resident, free-ranging parrots were very entertaining too!

I would definitely recommend staying here. the grounds are beautiful and well kept. our room was so luxurious with a hot tub on the balcony, two person shower indoors AND out doors, and a hammock to lay back and relax in. the people working here are really helpful as well. they took care of all our needs. they booked excursions, transportation, and spa services... anything we we wanted. they also have a few laptops set up in the lobby with internet which was also a great plus.

We arrived at Nayara Hotel- beautiful room with incredible indoor and outdoor showers! The outdoor shower was surrounded by stone walls and was huge.Flowers and birds everywhere with a view of the volcano right from our room. The sounds of the birds was incredible. We both recorded the morning birds with our iphones. It beat any nature CD that we …

They finally got it 20 minutes later and immigration wanted a separate email for both rather than the one confirmation email sent- they are a couple!!??? Anyway...30 minutes later, a walk of a kilometer and we were on the road again! A smoother ride, then I remember, into the mountains and we arrived in Monteverde. 3 words describe ...

After this adventure when died a 3 KM walk on the hanging bridges which were high over the forest and jungle canopy. It was a mix of light rain and sunshine which was perfect for our activities. We got back to our hotel at 4 pm for a brief rest before we went our for dinner. I had planned to do a horseback riding trek here but because of my shoulder declined it.

The match was on at breakfast time here in Costa Rica. We managed to find a tv station with live coverage, although in Spanish. We had to check out the hotel midday. So hoped for a short match! Think the Costa Ricans thought we were Loco. As we shouted at the tv. What a brilliant result. Well done ...

... on a tour of the sugar/coffee/chocolate factory. We saw how each of these was harvested and then made. The raw chocolate was kinda gross. The sugar was amazing though and we turned it into a candy type substance. We chewed on sugar cane and rode on an ox drawn carriage (I should make a list of all the transportation types I have used on this trip!) I decided to not do anything else this evening other ...
