We stayed two nights and had a wonderful stay. The Nayara suite had wooden floors, canopy beds, marble bathroom and secluded private garden with magnificent view of Volcan Arenal. Staff were great and the food delightful, especially the banana flambé courtesy of Juan Carlos, known to everyone as JC. He made our visit! Highly recommended.

Boy, was this luxurious! Our room was sort of hexagonol and absolutely vast with a wonderful balcony overlooking the volcano (unfortunately, it was shrouded in mist!) and with a hot tub. The restaurant was excellent, as was the food, and there are lots of places in the beautiful gardens to sit and relax. The resident, free-ranging parrots were very entertaining too!

I would definitely recommend staying here. the grounds are beautiful and well kept. our room was so luxurious with a hot tub on the balcony, two person shower indoors AND out doors, and a hammock to lay back and relax in. the people working here are really helpful as well. they took care of all our needs. they booked excursions, transportation, and spa services... anything we we wanted. they also have a few laptops set up in the lobby with internet which was also a great plus.

We arrived at Nayara Hotel- beautiful room with incredible indoor and outdoor showers! The outdoor shower was surrounded by stone walls and was huge.Flowers and birds everywhere with a view of the volcano right from our room. The sounds of the birds was incredible. We both recorded the morning birds with our iphones. It beat any nature CD that we …

... began climbing and the road, while narrow and winding, had very little traffic and glorious views back to the coast and the surrounding countryside. About 2 hours after we left Liberia we arrived in Santa Elena. We found our hostel with no problems and they are all very friendly there. We didn't do much more for the day as evening was approaching so we contented ourselves with exploring the town and avoiding getting blown ...

... to explore the Arenal area. We started our day with long winding staircase trip down to a waterfall and river. The site was picturesque but warning your legs will be in for a workout by the time you get back up. Next we were taken to an organic farm which I thought was the best portion of the day. Our guide was incredibly friendly and showed us the ins and outs of the farm including plants we could sample, ...

After we trotted off home! I am currently sitting out in the balcony reading my book/writing my entry and at 7 we are off to a restaurant in a tree house which should be interesting! It is so relaxing out here with all the sounds of the rainforest ...

    Day 3 - Wednesday Afternoon

We were back to the hotel by noon after an incredible morning super adventure. With no car, and taxi's really expensive to our remote hotel location, we opted to take the 2:15 employee shuttle into town. The shuttle was full, but my new good friend Alex rearranged a couple employees and got us seats.
