Nayara Hotel & Gardens La Fortuna

Our last full day in Costa Rica. : ( Yes, it's sad but true, today is our last full day of this trip. But let’s not dwell on that, and instead talk about the fun day we have planned.

... They are all located in booths, so we spoke to one and then went to the next, making sure that they saw we went to the others. We ended up getting the car for about $500 for the 11 days, an improvement of $200 from the first offer. Of course, they probably still made a killing off us but we just wanted to start exploring.

... But just when you get the hang of it, they throw mud into to mix (which is more if it’s raining and less if it’s hot), but I don’t mind-it keeps me on my toes. Well I wish I could write more but I better get goin-the monkeys just started howling.



I would like to dedicate this blog to my Aunt Barbara. She has always been like a second mom to me and has always had an endless supply of wisdom to give me. I love you Aunt B!

So even though the superbowl was super awesome, and watching it with a substantial crew of non Americans that have never watched a game of football in there life was hillarious (besides the chicago couple that sat next to me, standard). ... the Panama border. A sleepy village on the Atlantic coast with some very nice beaches. It is rapidly being developed and will not be loing before it is another major tourist centre. I tried some snorkelling on Thursday afternoon but again the weather turned quite rough and visibility dropped. ... tarmac and thus vegun my night drive aroudn the very twisty roads that lead the long way around the lake...we arrived to the Lodge at about 8.30pm...me very tired from concentrating on crazy roads...I am also driving on the wrong side of the road for my liking!!!...and everyone else just happy to be alive I think!!! :o)...yep always an adventure! SORRY GUYS... :o) Our rooms was great and we had dinner and slept well!! The Arenal Volcano always mesmerises me...I was here last year ...

... still has such a diverse range of things to do and places to see and it is beautiful on top of all that! So anyway, we are here in La Fortuna at the foot of the Arenal Volcano. This volcano is the most active volcano in Central America and we will be taking a tour of it this afternoon, so hopefully, I will be able to put some good photos on a bit later. Let´s just hope and pray that the weather isn´t too foul and we have some decent views of it.

... though. The most active frog was the little red and green dart frog. He was so beautiful, the size of a lollie, moving around the fronds.Also incredibly impressive was the gaudy leaf frog who is everyone´s favourite for his amazing red, blue, yellow and green colouring. They also have glass frogs that you can see the internal organs for when they sit on the glass and tiger frogs with orange and brown stripes on their legs and orange feet.

... it more fun. After a muddy hike and tractor ride back down the mountain my tired group of tourists and I headed into La Fortuna. We got there and it was ******* down rain and it looked like there was no hope of it stopping for the rest of the evening. So we opted out of the national forest volcano overlook hike and ate a little dinner before heading to the hot springs. Hi! I don't really have much to update. I still am learning a lot! Last week was the end of our first part of the semester. I had a huge paper, a huge test and a group presentation. We then had a three day weekend! 14 of us headed to Monteverde (green mountain). Basically we spent three days in the rainforest.
