The young woman who works in the kiosk is so charming and helpful that I always use the opportunity to listen and practice my Spanish everytime I visit Segovia. The final point of interest for the day was the Patronato Del Alcazar Segovia. This is basically a huge castle situated no more than 400 metres from our hotel. Segovia Day Trip

It is said to have been the inspiration for some of the Disney castles, which is easy to see in the familiar architecture (I'm planning to visit a few more in Germany next week). The location of the castle is one of its most stunning aspects, as it sits atop the crest of a hill, overlooking the valley and river. We took some time to enjoy the interior and exterior sights before heading back down through the village to make our way back to Madrid.
