Naxos Beach 2 Medotel

Delos is an incredibly interesting place. The entire island is a collection of ruins where no one is allowed to stay on the island overnight so everyone who visits are day trippers—most of whom are staying in Mykonos. It was an excellent day for exploring ruins at just over 60F degrees it was cool and pleasant. There is a lot to explore on the island so be sure to leave enough time to see it all.

It’s a little cool outside for a party island that is famous for its nude beaches and all-night dance clubs. This is the first time that I wished we were visiting Greece during the tourist season since the town almost feels empty and the beaches deserted.

After that rough start we got on the high speed ferry to Paros, where we switched to the low speed ferry to Naxos. We once again negotiated a price for a room, but this time, instead of a mesh box fortified with sticks, we ended up at the classy Pension Irene II where we had a balconey, swimming pool, air conditioning, kitchen ...

... 7 months. We walked into town, taking care to note which street would lead us back to our lodgings. The core of Hora town was still active with several shops and resturants open, but the huge area of surrouding hotels and summertime establishments was boarded up for the winter. I dont think I've ever spent my birthday in Greece.... Yesterday we spent most of the day lounging on the beautfil white sand beach by our hotel and swimming in the gorgeous ocean!! It was amazing. We left the beach to shower and then walked around the town a bit before stopping for dinner at an asian restarant... we have a craving for thai... and it was amazing!! ... few days before, and they had finally made their way to the islands. The sea was choppy, the clouds rolled in and the wind roared up... our plans for lying on the beach weren't looking too good. We had been recommended a hotel by Artemis in Santorini, so we ended up staying there, about 4km from the main town of Naxos. The room was not too bad, in a nice new villa, and very cheap, only 25 euros per night! We dropped in to one of the local cafes for some lunch ...

How on Earth did I get to be so lucky?

My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
