    ... flanked by tall buildings on either side.  The streets are dominated by pedestrians and the buildings seem to have been given over almost totally to shops and restaurants.  Still, we saw activity from 2 weddings during our perambulating, so there are still a few people living there. The big four were unaccessible, not a bad thing considering the last eruption was October 2013, and part of the road we'd travelled up on and a hut had been destroyed.     ... Given that I am with the locals, they do know where the affordable restaurants are. During a walk we got to see Dolce and Cabana in the flesh, he seemed to be drawing quite a crowd.

    For dinner we joined my cousin Nello, Paola, and their friends at "Zeppos Restaurant" for dinner. Great Sicilian Cuisine. After dinner another walk, returning to the cars before being driven home to Acireale.

    ... In the evening Fiorella, Nuncio, Mariella, Pino and few other friends and I had dinner at a little restaurant opposite San Sebastiano, a beautiful baroque Cathedral. I enjoyed a Chipolina and a Catochata. They would something similar to involtini, but with pastry. Finally Fiorella dropped me off at San Giovanni to rejoin Pina, Saro and Zia Graziella, where I would remain for the night. ...
