No Coffs Harbour?! Byron, Surfers and Brissie

A travel blog entry by mattchurch7 on Oct 24, 2015

... So this evening, I took the 45 minute walk, up through a forest path to the lighthouse. Boy oh boy, it's postcard material and then some! Definitely one of the most spectacular views I've seen on my travels, photos on Facebook don't do it justice! It was a short but sweet stay for me in Byron Bay, as after 2 nights it was time for the next part of my journey. On Tuesday 20th I caught the 11:25am bus up to Surfers Paradise - Gold Coast! The bus took just shy of 3 hours, but ...

and get food for Dolly, the white Chinese silky chicken who would be
spending the night in the hospital. Nora left for the bus and Shelly
and I did the second Barn Encounter at 15.00. I realized I may be
late to the school to pick up my lost money, so I booked it out of
        there at 15.30.

I deposited that cash as fast as I
could, now paranoid of losing even a five cent piece. An Irish man in

We arrived at Brisbane shortly after we rose in the morning, and, because we docked at a working port, nobody was allowed to walk away from the ship. Instead, if you wished to go into Brisbane, which is a 20 minute drive away, it was necessary to pay to take a shuttle into the city. Enroute to the CBD (central business district), we ...

        hollow stump.

After that, I cleaned out the common
wombat enclosures. They have a double-enclosure kept open, so Bella
and Boris can have a huge area. They are so cute. Boris will go after
you, but Bella is quite good with handling. All the wombats are
harness trained and go for walks, like Phil and Boris did this
        morning.

... birthday party, and so many photos of her with all the animals. We pulled up outside the famous Australia zoo sign with 'home of the crocodile hunter' underneath and waited for the gates to open. This gave us enough time to grab our waterproofs and some jumpers as it looked like the whole day was going to be pretty miserable. At 10 we were pretty much the first 2 people inside, we decided to pay a dollar extra for entry into the animal hospital, then headed off to ...
