... I found myself with the vomits yet again....fortunately though there were no lions, elephants or Ugandans with shot guns in sight this time! Waking still feeling nauseated and all round **** to a Japanese breakfast of more miso soup and a whole fish looking back at me was not a highlight. In Japan as they are always so polite and respectful, it was rude to not eat what was in front of me, despite every cell wanting to vomit all over the googley eyed slimy fish. Pito said I ...

... Japanese main island, Shikoku, you have now ,I think four points to cross bridges to reach it. I rode south wards from the city of Onomichi, crossing several island connected with bridges, to finally reach Imabari on Shikoku. The fishermen keep the large fish while the birds get the rest. Sake on the banks of the river, in the rain, with paper lanterns swaying in the breeze completed our day. This was the longest. Home after ...

A travel blog entry by canadiansmiley on Oct 27, 2013

Took the early morning train from Hiroshima to Onomichi to start my 70km cycling trip to Imbari. Was looking forward to the trip. This trip reminds me of the cycling through Vancouver islands. Island hopping. It is very easy to go from one place to the next. All routes are well ...

I'm in bed in my guesthouse. Friday night apparently. Prime time - just after 8pm. I tried to go out for dinner but failed. Almost fell asleep while walking through the arcade. So I popped by the nearest shop and grabbed a litre of grapefruit juice and some Japanese meatballs, a tomato and Aloe Vera yoghurt.. Strange mix but that's what my body wanted. And of course a beer - cos I bloody earned it! Shimanami Kaido was a though cookie. But luckily so am I so nae crumbling ...
