night we had dinner at Taverna Marbella, a gorgeous little spot overlooking the
ocean. THE best moussaka (my favourite Greek dish) I have ever had and Al's
favourite meal lamb chops cooked to perfection. Amused ourselves by feeding the
fish some tomato which they swarmed like baby piranhas a bit like the bees we had to escape at every breakfast swarming around our OJ and honey at our hotel!
The day started out at a warm 82 degrees, in deadly still air between the two boats on either side of us that continue to make Milena feel like the center of a sandwich. The first thing we had to do after leaving our slip, is to fill up the boat with plenty of gas to get us to Taormina ---- many miles away. We see Greek, Roman and even Venetian ruins. Very spectacular. We are told that many mosaic floors have been preserved, but they are covered in plastic and sand to keep them from deteriorating. Not much good for us us, their must be a better way! We eventually get to see a small example.
