... an eye on the crocs to make sure they don’t eat the lawnmower man. After checking out the crocs and the other animals, Suzanna had her must do moment and had her picture taken with a Koala, who’s name was Leno. He was very cute and Suzanna and Leno bonded, after an initial moment of rejection, so much that if she could have taken him with her she would have. From there we went to The Crocosium, the 5000 seat arena where they put on a show . Again, although a bit ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia tobszanniWell after spending a good week at our former turors house from college, we headed down to Sydney to spend yet more nights on the floor of someone elses house making it only 5 nights accomodation we have had to pay for in Australia!! It was such good fun at Kendricks (just south of Brisbane). We had the use of his car so we were free to travel around and go to vairious places. We were able to cook for ourselves ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia viki_fishA short stop-over in Hong Kong. A lot more cautious with the Swine Flu! Anyone would think pigs could fly. Quantass for the final leg. One of only two countries in the world that will not allow more than 100mls into the country (thanks Dubya and Shrub), so it is mad duty-free shopping. Still, the house-sitters are happy to see us (and the alcohol). The adventure concludes ...........
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia mickq1... we can't really afford to hang around hoping for a job. On the bright side for you all, we'll be back probably about a month of so earlier than planned. Somewhere in mid-July. One last story for you now, as I mentioned there is a good crowd at the hostel and the other day we were playing drinking games. A few of them decided to do the Centurion which is 100 shots in 100 minutes. Most people were using beer but ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia liam8... Horrrible little ****. It was a hard week to say the least, we wouldn't get in until after 11pm, and by then we had been constantly in a flat spin for 14hrs. Rushing to clean the apartments, rushing to catch the bus, rushing to keep up with Bertha as she constantly vomitted boxes of special bloody K like the girl from The Exorcist, Rushing to the next bus, from that bus we would run to the next bus. We were exhausted. It was impossible to unwind at the end of ...

We just thought it'd go away on it's own accord. Wrong. Pretty soon, Katie would be in excrutiating pain at the slightest touch and, pretty soon after that, her entire forearm had swollen to Popeye proportions. Uh oh. I finally managed to persuade her to go to the hospital to get it checked out. At the hospital, Katie underwent some x-rays and some blood tests and we had ...
Manly, New South Wales, Australia katieandphill... worth the effort. Despite the exhausting day we had had, the very same evening we caught the Ferry to Circular Quay with a few of our housemates to watch an open air movie at Darling Harbour. The German movie was called Run Lola Run. There was a live band underneath the the cinema screen playing the soundtrack. It was an awesome end to and awesome Day! What else have we done? Hmmmm.. On the 19th, we did Sydney's highest open air attraction, the Skywalk. The Skywalk is a unique ...
Manly, New South Wales, Australia katieandphillCheryl was working all day again, I really think these twelve hours shifts are killers. David was shopping for bike things and playing golf so we decided to do another walk. This is an open air beach walk, very different to the one we did last week from Spit Bridge. We caught a bus from the Wharf in Manly to Long Reef Golf Course at Collaroy and walked to Fisherman's Beach ready to set out on the ...
Manly, New South Wales, Australia jackandjill... Zoo is across the harbour so we took a ferry one weekend with the dual purpose of seeing the zoo and getting a different view of the harbour along the way. We had a great time at Taronga Zoo. The enclosures are really good and they have lots of variety. When we got there, we got the cable car up to the top and worked our way down. They have a very informative Koala talk when they feed the Koalas and we got to see some of the baby Koalas in the pouches. There lots of ...
