... We walked along the lakeside looking for a suitable bench and found one opposite a new bridge beside an old pontoon bridge. For lunch we had bought bread, cheese and salami as well as some Lithuanian deli dishes. One we thought was egg mayo, which it sort of was, but it also had picked elements, dill and something else a bit funny. It's a hot one today...Drove into Vilnius the capital of Lithuania to explore the city, being Sunday free parking for us. A short stroll got us to New Town a very modern looking area, that looked so different to what we have seen of the country so far. At first it seemed quiet but quickly came to life with a big event on, trying to encourage people into sports. ... currency behind in the hotel, I remember counting it and putting it to one side, it wouldn't have helped me though as I only had about 3700 Roubles (25p)
So that left me with either a credit card or Euros, I won't go into details but without the Euros I'd have been stuffed....and they only 92 RON petrol as well, It doesn't appear to make any difference to how the bike runs, pity we can't get it in the UK...
