... caravan coming towards us! What a memorable day in breathtaking scenery. Having grown up on `The Sound of Music`, I just had to see it, so Monday it was Salzburg which is about an hour from the campsite. Having considered the various options, we decided to drive to one of the park and ride stops to eliminate the stress of finding a regular car park. We got back to the hostel around 9:30, I went and filled the bike up with petrol, packed it up and had a shower, and once again I find myself writing the blog quite late at night with an early morning on the cards tomorrow, but it's important to get it all done or I forget to write about so many interesting details. The tollway turned out to be a beautiful mountain road with a nice surface, featuring waterfalls and rivers made of colours I'd never seen before. At one point we reached a spot where work crews were building a new road - but at that moment it was only wide enough for one vehicle - so they had those roadworks ...

Some of the most breathtaking scenery we have seen ever !!!! We drove along the valley floor looking at what we thought we're some special views, until we started climbing up to Grossglockner and were amazed at the scenery. We reached a height of 2500m, with snow capped mountains surrounding us. Wearing shorts and thongs on a beautiful clear and sunny day in the snowy peaks seemed so decadent.Obviously most of ...
