We are now approaching the Saxon "Switzerland" on the border with the Czech Republic. This is mining country and reminds me if the Colorado mining area. Silver and a bunch of rare earth metals were hauled out of this region until the mines died. So after a very late night last night it was up early today to head out for a 9 1/2 hour excursion. We were headed to the spa town of Karlovy Vary- about 20 kilometers from the German border. The town was originally settled by Germans but now is heavily populated by Russians. ... s day went like this....... Sue was right - I was basically worn out by now and not feeling 100% once again due to dizziness. In the meantime, I rode the next 120 km to Dresden. I have for the first time since leaving Switzerland given myself a day off biking. I stay in a sort of youth hostel, 11 euro per night, a shower and breakfast, perfect for me.
I have already and will tonight a bit more experience Dresden. Very interesting, will write a blog about this city later.
Today is my last day in Germany, will be in Poland ...
I am in Zwickau, 40 km west of Chemnitz.
Will leave veery soon towards Dresden, a good 100 km distance.
Plan to have a day rest in Dresden, if everything works out.
