So Amanda was up and putting on the kettle before I realised. Oops. She had about an hour's proper sleep. The phone rang at four thirty and we were on the minibus at five. ... strange, they rarely have a photo taken of a bloke in a dress, but here they are, just that these blokes have makeup and a posh frock) everyone was jostling to have their photo taken and give out ‘tips’, it was quite funny, people wearing holiday clothes and ‘ladies’ in evening gowns having their photos taken with them

... and very similar to Phuket where we had been before...definitely tacky and very sleazy. Every building is covered in bright lights advertising various girl bars / shows and the streets are full of Thai girls (and Thai men) wearing heavy make up and very skimpy clothing, trying to drag you into their bars.

The weather in Pattaya was not as bad as the forecast had suggested and it was dry most days, but it was very ...
