Awoke to a beautiful sunrise over the mountains. Packed a picnic lunch and fishing gear and hit the road. Stopped at our favorite breakfast restaurant - Banner Elk Cafe. And then, we were on a mission to find a fishing spot along the Watauga River that Eric went to about 10 yrs ago. AND WE FOUND IT!!! Perfect spot and a perfect day to sit and watch Eric fish. He ...

Today was a little overcast and we needed an excuse to do nothing and just lounge around this beautiful house and take it all in. Wow! It was great. Now back to our comfortable home on top of the mountain - listening to folk rock, relaxing, drinking a couple of cold ones.

LIFE IS GOOD. Love to you all.

... quite sleepy. We made up a quick meal and passed out in our tents, expecting an easy sleep. Only to wake up, various times during the night, to the pounding rain on the ceiling. I slept like poo.

Our morning was greeted with more rain but our spirits were still high. Once we packed up camp, we rolled back out to the trail with our 30-40lb packs. It was lovely during the day time! We came at the perfect time, right when all of the leaves were changing. The ...
