... Nino could alter the plans.

We do expect to cycle back through northern California for springtime and back up to Oregon early summer.

It's 800 miles to The Teton's from here. We awoke early, partly due to anticiptation, partly due to the 76 degree temp still inside the RV and only 72 outside. I spot check temp forecasts in Nevada and Idaho which promise lows in the 40's. Whew. ...

... smaller than I expected. It must have been extremely crowded during the actual games.
Redding was nice in that we had a few more days of warm weather before heading to the red woods. We got in a couple of sessions at the pool and coffee under the awning in the morning.

Monday, July 6, 2015. PCT day 78 miles 1189.2-1198 Today is a nero day. I slept in until 06:30 and left camp by 0730. The trail was all downhill, 8.5 miles into Sierra City, which is at 4200 feet elevation. It definitely felt warmer/hotter down here. I arrived here by 11:30ish. The small town is only about a mile from the trail. I set up camp by the local church. I had my cold shower ...

... with him. I've been bumping into him often on the trail. Last time I saw Dingo and Cosmic Bubbles was in VVR. For the most part, the terrain today was not very spectacular. It is still mostly volcanic and forestry. The hiking was mellow with easy climbs. It was in the 40s this morning. It felt like it got up to the low 80s by mid afternoon. It felt muggy. No rain, tho. I so appreciate the tree canopy shade, making the heat more bearable. Another thing I ...

I am behind in posting to the blog. This happened about 10 days ago.

Snow in April? Really? We managed to avoid snow all 11 months of the trip except for one New Year's Morning in Tucson, but now, here we were in the Sierra Foothills at the Ananda Meditation Retreat when we woke up to 3-4 inches of spring snow. Not unexpected in places in far northern latitudes and not totally unusual ...
