We went shopping today. Got up very late and drove to Las Americas outlets right on the border with Tijuana just over the fence. Bought heaps and spent almost the entire afternoon there. ... That morning we needed to catch up on our laundry. We had done some snooping about earlier in the week and discovered that there was an old table football in the "fitness room" opposite the laundry room. A great way to pass the time as we waited. Our plan was to have a beach day at the state park just outside San Diego, and camp the night there before, hitting the city early the next day. So we continued our journey down the Pacific Coast Highway, until we came across San Ejio State Park, which had sites right on the beach available. So we parked up, and moseyed down to the beach. ... Then took the Old Town Trolley tour on a loop starting from Balboa Park. Was fun! Some of my favourite bits were little Italy, old town, the waterfront (big military ships and museum), Gas Lamp district, and the AMAZING Coronado. Next time, each of those places is getting some proper time and attention. Sadly heading back to LA today (on Pacific Surfliner again so not all bad), but San Diego is on my list to come back ...
... strange incident occurred as we were eating. There was a birthday party in there and all of a sudden about 40 teenage girls just stood up and started to sing and dance to the songs that were playing! After food we walked back to the ferry and back to the ship. I was was knack weed and with all that walking in wet feet, I'd given myself some really big blisters! Every toe had one, my heels and the ball of my foot. Luckily it was back to sea the next day and I could wear my comfy work ...
