We visited the church next door to the hotel, walked down a busy street in the main part of town and back to the hotel for dinner. ... Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo at San Diego Bay on 28th September 1542. This offered more amazing views of San Diego, then we drove to the new functioning lighthouse and tide pools. The new lighthouse is not as impressive as the old one and you can't even get to it. Its blocked off on private grounds. The park as a whole was really nice and very educational, if you want to know about its history. The views alone were definitely worth the trip.

We've had a great few days in San Diego, and to be honest, I enjoyed it better than LA. We were told before we left LA, that San Diego was a slower paced version of LA, and boy were they right! No one was in a hurry to get anywhere. It did start off a bit rocky, the man at the front desk of our hotel (Jesus), The Courtyard Downtown, couldn't find our booking. He said it was cancelled. Let's just say Maddie was not happy ...
