... got dropped on 5th avenue, the heart of the Gas Lamp District, where all the restaurants and bars are plentiful. We had had a few recommendations of bars so we started with the Tipsy Crow, home of the Salty Dog, a freshly squeezed grapefruit drink with vodka and a salty rim! So we gave it a try! ... a bit but the next morning we had to head back to LA because we were due in La Mesa, CA on Tuesday afternoon. Our plans were to visit my friends Sharon & Linda near San Diego and I knew they would be looking for us around 1 pm. Didn't happen. We called and worked out a different ETA and everything worked out OK.
