... we had to spend some time walking around there .. it was a busy place. The park by the ocean was so nice, and very crowded for the holiday but we found a parking space for our big ole' truck and made our way down to the water. This was a rough beach, lots of rocks, strong surf and undertow so no one was in the water but sitting on the rocks and the sea wall was so nice. The next day we were off to Sea World, a very well known tourist theme park in San Diego. Here we saw whales adhering to commands and doing back flips and splashing the crowd, the same thing with dolphins but with some people getting more involved in the water getting carried around on them, and a crazy pet show. Next we found ourselves in Elephant Odyssee and then up on top of the mesa; saw the polar bear, then down through the raptors and up by the pandas, up the people walker and out the exit. ... on facebook just before the start of this trip so we were able to get together. We were pals and it is great to reconnect.
On Sunday we are going to a "Century Plant Party." Meg & Steve have a Century Plant in their yard that is about to bloom. It only blooms every hundred years, so it is a big deal. I can't wait to toast to its continued good health.
