... how they are learning English. The man who owns the kindergarten is also a monk who them took us to a nearby temple where we practiced meditation. That afternoon we all took a pottery class. Each of us were able the create 2 pieces of pottery. I have included a couple pictures of Jonah behind the wheel.

... the Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take pictures inside the museum. but we were able to take a group photo in front of a giant ceramic taiko drum that was on display. After the museum, we spent some time shopping at the pottery shops along the road near the museum. I just MIGHT have found something there for Sarah and Norah.

Today we're going to continue practicing taiko with Eitetsu and his group. Yesterday we met the taiko group from Mashiko and got to play a little with them! They seemed pretty cool but they were younger than I had expected. Most were definitely younger than almost all of us. Anyway, we are going to have a workshop with Eitetsu and hopefully get to play with some of the Mashiko kids. We also plan on doing ...
