... was a massive stage with live music being played. There is apparently some kind of mini festival taking place at the moment and it was just so lovely to stand about laughing with our new friends and taking it all in, I just couldn't stop smiling! Later in the evening we all went out for a meal together which was really great, I enjoyed every moment of it - well other than being harassed by the expectationally rowdy locals but that was all part of the ...

... and I took a walk and left the boys to play (no we didn't go far, but we did get out of "MOM" range for a few minutes). Then we wandered into the old city center looking for dinner. The Moravian restaurant in the guidebook was closed, which Sam seemed to think was mom's fault, but our second choice was open and ready for us (as long as we were done with our table in time for the 8 pm reservation). We had Czech specialties, including ...

... onions and a small pint of Pilsner. We then took a walk through the beautiful Botanical Gardens along the Mlynska Stream on one side and the old city wall on the other. We had a lovely dinner at the U Andela restaurant. Jack had a salad while Deb tried a chicken breast with stewed plums.

We both liked Olomouc and would recommend it to others. It has a historic charm, but it is also a city and people go about their business. The people are friendly and helpful, but it's not overly ...
