... I asked the Greek owner whether he accepted credit cards. No, something went wrong with the machine, but if I don't have cash on me, not to worry, I can come pay anytime I'm in the area ! How often does one still experience this level of trust ? I fortunately did have cash on me and paid up, but I was really taken by the gesture. Needless to say, I'll be back. Well the journey here was nothing short of traumatic . Twelve hours on a sleeper train with toilets directly from hell. Im pretty sure they are the sole reason for all my pre-trip injections.
Shortly after the train we were taken by 'bus' to hell part 2. A deserted shed containing flea ridden dogs, mouldy airplane seats ( I have no idea) and a naked Thai man unashamedly having a shower in the corner.

... was clean and overall it was incredibly relaxing. I can imagine it would be a good spot for holidays away for a group of people as you have the town and a nightlife as well as the beach for relaxation. It is a big backpackers destination so you can find cheap accommodation (and food) fairly close to the centre, plus it has an international airport.

Next stop was Ko Tao which is incredibly popular for divers.
