Today dawned bright and sunny, and relatively warm after the icy wind of the past two or three days, and it certainly made a huge difference to the appearance of the town. The Ducal Palace is an impressive building near the top of one of the hills in Urbino and was closed for the New Year celebrations, so we set off hoping it was going to be opened today, but not really being sure. As we rounded the corner of the buildings we realised the door was open.....so today's itinerary was possible.
