Miles completed: 121 States this trip: 6 States in total: 30 After a fairly sleepless night, in which I was convinced we were going to be killed by the escaped murderers currently running around upstate New York, and being frightened by a random cat that jumped at the tent, it was another early start for us this morning. We were up and out into Watkins Glen State Park by 6am, with the intention of hiking along the gorge trail. The park contains a river ...

Miles completed today: 663 Miles in total: 1,306 States this trip: 6 States in total: 30 We woke at five this morning to find that it had been raining all night - always the way as we're packing down! We had the tent deconstructed and were in the car ready to leave by 5.30 - we've totally got this down to a fine art now! As we were driving through Acadia and saying goodbye, we commented how it's really beautiful, but very small, and we feel like we've had a ...

With a full tank of gas, a heavy heart, and some nervous excitement, we are off to a good start and almost to buffalo. We will make a couple of posts each day of our trip, so stay tuned!! Love always, Julia and ...

... end to end, and never more than 3.5 miles wide. We are camped in the Village of Watkins Glen at a town-owned camping facility between a park overlooking the lake and a marina. Basically camping downtown! This is a very different vibe. We have beautiful views of the mountains – as they turn color – and of the river at the marina and of Seneca Lake.

We awoke to our first morning enveloped in a deep fog. We brewed some coffee ...

The scenery along the Finger Lakes was spectacular. Amazing residences, very large and stunning. Green lawns. Mountains of trees. Went through a canyon that has a waterfall when the rains come. Just Beautiful.

Stopped at Dunkin Donuts for afternoon tea. Almond Milk Cappuccino and Donut Munchkins, Cinnamin, Chocolate and Pumpkin. Very ...
