    Still under reconstruction !

I booked Napa Mermaid at my TA but this hotel was still under reconstrunction - it means a new wing was in the fabric state and the reception had no windows. Napa mermaid officialy opens on June 17th - so be careful if you do not want to live on the building site !

Trust me it is the nicest

amazing i have never been in such a clean tidy hotel to me could be a 5 star the beach is across the way with watersports plenty to do for all ages. the food is so nice that is were i gained 4lbs i tipped the clean for how much cleaning she did so nice no stop fun if you choose this resort

    Great hotel

My husband and I stayed at the Napa Mermaid hotel for 2 nights to attend my sister-in-law wedding in September. Our room was fine, clean and spacious. The staff was very friendly and eager to please.

We had the wedding and wedding meal at the hotel as well and it was fantastic. The wedding meal was the best I had in Cyprus.

The location of the hotel is fantastic as well, only two minutes walk from the hotel.

    I would definitively recommend it.

    Best holiday ever

the hotel is sooo much like the pictures. i came back on sunday and it was the best holiday i have ever been on. it was hot and the pool was not ice cold which is good!!! there is a range of activities on during the day with a super animater and a different show each night in the week and if you dont like them it wont hurt to take a short work into the town which is not far and yes you can see the sea from the pool area. the meals are great and there is not just a lot of junk or fast food. it is nice. there is a beach you can see from the pool and on it there is a huge variety of water sports!!! even i had a go... and in the town there is the square with a huge range of pubs like bedrock inn a flintstone place fromthe stone age and senoir frogs. the other side of ayia napa is waterworld waterpark 10th year award winning

    Don't trust the pictures!

Firstly - the photos of this hotel on Expedia are ridiculous!! Especially the pool photo where you can see the Sea in the background! You CANNOT see the sea from the pool area of this hotel. That is the most photoshopped image i've seen for ages!

The pictures of the rooms are also taken in the 'executive suites' and DEFINATELY NOT the main rooms.

This hotel is a basic hotel which lives up to it's three star repuation. The beds are quite hard but not horrible. After 8 nights, I was glad to get back to my own bed.

Rooms are clean and tidy with a small wardrobe and small bathroom.

You have to pay extra for a safe and a fridge.

The table and two chairs on the balcony had seen better days.

The breakfast is good with lots of variety and the food is good quality.

The beach-side cafe and restaurant sells average food but it is very overpriced.

The pool is very nice and not too crowded. There are plenty of loungers and we never had a problem finding one.

Although: around 2pm every day they have watersports and it's quite loud with lots of splashing and a good chance you will get hit by a stray ball.

The staff are very helpful and friendly.

It is a 15 minute walk to the main 'strip' of Aiya Napa. (Ie: where the bars / clubs and shops are). The closest beach is only a 5 minute walk but Nissi Beach (the famous one) is a 15 minute car / cab ride)

If you are looking for a basic hotel to sleep, have a swim and eat breakfast then stay here. If you are looking for a plush hotel with lots of luxury and ammenities- this is NOT the hotel for you.

I would say the equivilant hotel would be a travelodge. Do not be fooled by the pictures on expedia.

    Hope this helps!

    Wow!! Superb!

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a 5* holiday. The hotel is in superb condition and definately deserves more than a 3star rating. The people are so kind and will bend over backwards to help you. It is located in the perferct settings. Looking out to sea with only a short walk to the town centre, The pool is beautiful and very clean. I will definately be going back

    Pleasant hotel

This was our fourth time in Ayia Napa but our first time at the Napa Mermaid Hotel which we stayed at for two weeks, during July 2006. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was fairly basic, but had everything we needed and was very clean. The pool area was also clean and we were able to get a sunbed at whatever time we came down, with a nice friendly atmosphere between the guests. The food at the poolside bar was lovely as was the hotel's breakfast buffet, with a large selection to choose from. The hotel had a entertainment programme including a daily aqua gym and water polo session and dancers or singers at night. The hotel did have a school party while we were there which were a little noisy at night, however they were not around the hotel area in the day, and the managment seemed fairly strict with them. I would definately recommend this hotel and be happy to stay here again.

    Really enjoyed stay

After arriving in Ayia Napa and getting our apartments which were dreadful, we checked out and checked into this hotel, The staff were lovely and the room had everything we needed. It was a 3 star hotel and certainly deserved the star rating, breakfast and waslovely as was the pool. The weather was not nice in Cyprus while we were there so it was nice to stay somewhere quiet and nice.

Short stroll to town centre, so no noise.

... further away from the temple, some residential housing has begun to be excavated.

    Biblical Significance
Kition is mentioned several places in Scripture but mostly as an allusion to its naval power (Dan 11:30), figuratively to all the distant islands of the Mediterranaean or distant places in general (Jer 2:10; cf. Isa 23:12), or as a principal supplier of lumber for the building of ships (Ezk 27:6).

... 000 (10x the theater occupancy), it is quite plausible that several synagogues existed throughout the city. Not much else is mentioned about their visit to this important port city on the island. The biblical record does not reveal whether the gospel was accepted, if any believed, or whether Barnabas and Paul faced opposition. In this first stop on their itinerant journey, Scripture simply conveys that Barnabas and Paul spoke the word of God. Maybe that was the ...

Thus, St. Barnabas's grave site remained unknown for 432 years until it was revealed to Archbishop Anthemios of Constantia (Salamis) in a dream. Anthemios went to the site and opened the cave and found the remains of St. Barnabas and St. Matthew's Bible. He took the remains and Bible to Emperor Zeno ...

... on one level upstairs, beautiful decor, a cute wee balcony with floor to ceiling windows/doors and a fantastic view of a small square with a beautiful church in it. The Lazarus square. Very old! After settling in at the hotel we found a place for dinner and then walked along the waterfront to check out what was on offer. Wish we had more time to have a proper look around. I am sure we will get back there at some point ...
