... that I look back on fondly and remember just feeling very good about. They were the classes that kept me going, even when I felt homesick, because I felt supported by the girls in the class and supported by the notion that, in a strange way, they looked up to me.
So I apologise for the lack of funny stories in this entry but I simply don't have any to tell about class 470. They were simply the class that kept my morale and confidence going when I felt like I just wanted to go home.
... after all. In fact, looking back, maybe I should have just released a puppy into the classroom for forty five minutes and left out all that teaching.
I wish I had funny anecdotes to tell about Class 459, I wish I had memories that I look back on and laugh at, but really the only thing I can remember is the feeble way in which they sang 'Happy Birthday' on my actual birthday. That makes ...
... We ended up having a second lunch and a beer with the head chef and the head of the caféteria. I know it may seem remiss for me to be drinking when I still had classes to teach but, in Chinese culture, had I refused the beer then I would have been incredibly rude. Well, that's what I tell myself anyway...and it was good beer...
So 455 may not have been my best or friendliest class, but they certainly were the only ones to get me free beer.
