... so I bought a lovely blue floral fan which made everyone else come up beside me to enjoy the breeze! The mausoleum itself was not that exciting, a small room with a statue but intricately decorated walls and ceiling. We sat at the top of the steps for a while and then went back down the hill on foot to the metro station (on the way up we took a little open sided tourist buggy). Once back at the university we ...

... not great fun to run through... But soon everyone came to our room and we all hung out together for the evening on the strict policy of "leave your shoes at the door!". So although a week late he is here now, seems lovely, and is coming with us to nearby Suzhou ...

... exhibition centre in Nanjing. I had grand plans of collecting brochures from exotic locations to holiday. How stupid was I? All the brochures were in Chinese of course, even ones from English speaking countries. That was a waste of time, however Emma and I enjoyed a nice lunch at the Blue Marlin (in the pouring rain), before heading home. Tonight Caroline (who is also husbandless) brought her boys over for homemade pizza and movies. Good ...

... Fresh in town (popular with Westerners). Caroline showed me how to get a taxi expat style: walk into a 5 star hotel, pretend you’re staying there and have the concierge organize a taxi for you. Apparently this is also a good trick for posting mail. My driver had asked for the night off (social event) so left us at Elements Fresh. The taxi home (approx 30 min drive) cost us a total of $8! Bargain! A 10 min taxi ride from Adelaide airport cost me $22 in ...
