All the revellers made it up and out to class this morning which I was quite proud of. The people who weren't there had not gone out and I was not so happy with their commitment and really their lack of respect. But anyway language class was decent and then we had calligraphy which was really good fun. We were given some pages of characters from different time periods from the start to those in present day use. ...

... not great fun to run through... But soon everyone came to our room and we all hung out together for the evening on the strict policy of "leave your shoes at the door!". So although a week late he is here now, seems lovely, and is coming with us to nearby Suzhou ...

Although I did not get fried noodles I ...

There is a sheltered area for the kids to lock their bikes up during the day. I had Zhang come to our house in the morning, incase it was raining and we needed a lift to the bus stop, but we didn’t end up needing the car so I sent him ...

... the photo of the map, the venue is large, but as it was such a hot day and everyone was melting, we only walked around half of it.

Our next stop was the Jiangning Imperial Silk Manufacturing Museum in town. I’d read that there was a Hans Christian Anderson’s costume exhibit on, and was keen to see it. This museum was very modern and impressive (and not yet seen by Caroline!). The grounds were beautiful as were the silks on display (clothes ...
