After this we walked to a feeding platform in the protected forest area where the orangutans which have been released but still want a bit of help finding food (or are just lazy) head to for fruit at feeding times twice a day. We stayed out for another while to take full advantage of happy hour an met a couple of guys who were crew on one of the massive boats moared up, one was from NZthe other from California. Two more of them joined us later a young girl from Melbourne and a guy from the UK but lived in Aus, apparently there were 14 or 18 crew in total! When the new day dawned and we got out to have a look, KK seemed a very reasonable place. Higher Muslim population judging from the number of headscarves, but no feeling that Sharia law is about to be enforced. Beer's not cheap though, unfortunately.
