We got some rest last night and continued on today. We're back to naps, hiding all the breakables, and trying to distract the little guy as would any parent of a two year old. It looks like he is having a lot of fun. We feel lucky that, at the moment, he seems to be adjusting well to his new family. We are so happy to finally be together.

Mel: Although NanNing was a city we were just passing through, we enjoyed some traditional cultural buildings and hidden laneways, amongst massive shopping malls. ... bus. Des isn't having it amd demands to see our bags moved onto the new bus, this goes on a few times until finally the guy gives in and let's des and Clíona move the bags themselves. We're happy to be leaving Hainan, it was nice to have some sun, the beachy, tropical feel but th email people are so ignorant and un cooperative. The night bus is interesting...three rows of double beds about 80 cm wide. We're down at the back and once we start moving it's lights off. ...
... to Guangzhou began in 2008 and now, in 2015 is already done with bullet trains that cut travel time between the two cities from 13 hrs to 3 hrs! The trains run up to 208km/h! It was pretty amazing to take this train remembering that just few years ago, the same journey will take more than half of the day! I am not surprised that Chinese companies are building high-speed rail networks in Turkey and Venezuela.

No matter how many people waved the menu under our nose and shouted in Chinese we still didn't understand. Eventually, after K shook her arm horizontally while making a frying sound and repointing at the ingredients we finally got some veggie fried rice.
