    Day 1 in Hong Kong

A travel blog entry by ckpurewal on Mar 26, 2015

... The ride to the village is 20 mins on a windy road. We went on a local bus and the driver was a little scary but what an adventure. We came back to the Buddha area after about 1 1/2 hours. We then got back on the cable cars to head back. We rode the subway to and from this area. The mtr is retry easy to figure out. What's hard is that a lot of people don't stop or speak English. Many times I used my app called say hi ...

We'd taken our bag on the ride (had all our valuables) with us because, again, that's what happens on the ones at home- lucky the bag's waterproof because that too got soaked despite my efforts to cover it with my body. ... about western fast food when travelling, but have now amended this to exclude McCafe! The coffee was actually really nice! Wendy was not feeling well, so we quickly located our next hotel, orientated ourselves and caught the metro back. Once there, I rang mum to wish her a Happy Mother's Day, having no idea what day it was, so calling a day early! Lol. As I chuckled about my error, I gazed tiredly out my window across Hong ...

... again we stopped for some groceries and headed for the metro to take us back to our hotel. We made a very thrown together dinner that surprisingly turned out to be really good. We bought some seaweed, carrots, mushrooms and soy sauce and mixed them all together for a nice 5 minute meal.

The next day we headed to the train station to buy our tickets back to Seoul for Saturday's templestay. We were lucky to get seats as all the ...
