... France before Christmas to see the Christmas markets. I even left my bag in Poland so the flight was cheaper, anything to save a bit of money!

As the flight was in progress, the pilot would occasionally come on the speaker to update us on progress, not that it was necessary. Looking out the window, 3/4 of the trip was made in clear, bright blue sky. Then it clouded over, and as we dipped through the clouds, the rain began...

... That was actually pretty lucky for us because we got to walk down the main isle of the church and see the entire inside. It's a pretty traditional European church with high ceilings, big spaces and a long hall. And of course, the most important part - fantastic acoustics.

... as a UNESCO site as one of the few examples of a restored medieval castle. It was interesting to learn that the castle had an in-floor system of heating channels similar to what was used in Roman times. After about 2 hours at the castle, it was time to return to Kaunas and get ready for a family dinner.

We took a couple hours to wander the shops of Kaunas and to prepare ourselves for a wonderful evening.
