... bizarre live act experiences of my life. It should be on everyone's bucket list. A diamond studded microphone was held by a girl in a tiny skirt, high boots and a PVC dayglow top. She was singing a sad or romantic song in Chinese and holding a bunch of red roses. A group of dancers behind her, reminicient of an amature Zumba lesson, didn't seem to be taking it very seriously. ... and I have to say it was first class, a very elegant setting with terrific service and a menu not available elsewhere on the ship. Al had the shrimp starter, I had crab cakes. Al had steak and I had halibut, all of it was amazing. This far into the trip it was nice to be at a different venue with a different menu and just have a nice intimate dinner with just the two of us.

... was a DREAM compared to Thailand, and we managed to complete all the steps on both ends in less than 30 minutes (customs, immigration and the harbor master). We relaxed on the boat that night with a sundowner while we watched a formation aerobatic team practicing for the upcoming Aeronautics Show in Langkawi. (post script – later there was a crash of the Indonesian demo team – thankfully all were OK!)

We set off early morning with a clean boat and repaired dinghy ...

... up to a waterfall only to find it was almost dry. On the way up we encountered some agressive monkeys. One tried to leap on top of Elaine but luckily I swatted him away with my Ipad as I was taking a picture. When we returned back to the trailhead there was another monkey sitting on my scooter and he refused to move off. They were looking for food from tourists. It reminded me of the racoons at Foz Iguacu ...

The crossing from Lipe to Langkawi was a far smoother affair than the journey to Lipe aboard the "Vomit Comet" (as nick-named by the Andersons!).
