... seen, in that it is beautifully ornate with intricate carvings everywhere you look, but on the altar there are vipers. In fact, when you start to look carefully, there are vipers pretty much everywhere, in every tree and pot plant. The snakes appear quite lethargic and I am sure they are well fed and used to human contact, but they are venomous, and although a bite would probably not prove fatal, it would ruin your day, so we keep well clear.

We made it back to the entrance to the hotel and braced ourselves for the short, but steep climb ahead. We made it to the first turn when we heard it. ... set on the side of a mountain in the jungle. According to the reviews of other guests we should see a whole lot of wildlife from the comfort of our balcony. The taxi drops us at the official drop off point and fortunately there is a driver waiting to take us to our room. It isn't far, but it is very very very steep. Lordy Lordy. But the place is beautiful and we see monkeys playing in the trees outside our room, a flying lizard and lots of birds and butterflies.

We settle ...
