... Spain. I don't even know where to go and where to begin. Before I got here I planned on just going to the bus station and hopping on a bus to wherever. I have not been as spontaneous as that, nor have I had the time. I have been seeking a connection with Malaga on the weekends, which I have gotten a little bit of one but not really, so now I think it is time to start exploring places outside of the city. To help initiate this I want to go ...
Málaga, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands skivail89... Real Andalucia), Marbella won´t spring to mind at all.......... Ronda for sure and maybe nowadays Malaga as well, as they have done up the City center!
In all the building boom over the last 15 years, the Quaint Old Town of Marbella has not been
touched at all and this beautiful authentic small Andalusian fishing village, called Marbella, still remains in tact!
One can feel the new rush into the Old ...
... t think I will quite be able to until I take a trip to a different country so I have something to compare it to. But first, like I said, I really want to get to know Andalusia and to orient myself. I wish I would have written more entries while I was traveling before ISA started, like while I was in Madrid and Torrevieja, but at least this is a start.
Málaga, Andalucia, Spain skivail89... To eat lunch before 2 pm is very unusual. To eat dinner before 9 pm is also odd. Today is Sunday and it seems like everything is closed as well. I wanted to buy another pillow today but I don´t think I´ll be able too. To the beach then! The temperature has been in the 80s and 90s the past few days which is abnormally high for this time of year but I´ll take it! Goodbye Minnesota and Wisconsin winters!
So, things in Málaga are good. Things in Álora ...
... asked the hostel owners if I could get a discount since I’ll be staying for a week and they agreed to a very small one. I’ll still be paying about 150€ total to stay the week here, which is A LOT for me…
Tomorrow I’ve made appointments to check out some more apartments in Málaga so that I have more options.
Yesterday was all rainy so I took that opportunity to catch up on sleep and read. I am reading ¨Under the Banner of Heaven ...
... Our giant bus didn´t help matters either and the situation devolved into one giant mass of gridlocked honking. And some of you Spaniards have some really whimpy car horns!! Get you a real horn, something substantial that isn´t like the bells on an ice cream truck.
The bus driver would lay on the horn for 30 seconds at a time and twelve rows back I could hear all sorts of Spanish cursing flying out of his mouth. I ...
Marbella, Andalusia, Spain and Canary Islands pille... but my exhaustion made it difficult.
What I can remember were the plain, square buildings in need of paint, trash covering the highway and walls covered with graffiti. The road wound through steep, dusty hills covered with low shrubs and occasionally dotted with a white-washed house. Looking down into one valley, I saw a shepherd walking with his herd of goats.
Nerves only increased as we were given the names of the seńoras who would ...
... It's a shame no one took a video - he could have got some royalties off that ponce Flatley. The only other things I remember are playing the arcade game Cabal, England beating Sweden as Rangers defender Terry Butcher unfortunately survived serious head wounds and going to a giant waterpark.
Torremolinos, Spain kevin.mcallion... on a regular basis, he has to be forced to eat it. So he says to me that it isn't healthy for me to eat fruit all the time! Now I would agree that for an extended period of time, it's not the best option, veggies would be far better. But for the short term, I think I will survive. The best part is, he says this to me while he is eating a plate full of fried chicken and fries, drowned in ketchup!! Definitely an opportunity area for his school to brush up on this year.
Sotogrande, Spain skye
