      Conor had a connection at the USOC (United States Olympic Training Center), who is good professional friends with a man who works in sports technology for AC Milan, Lukka. The football (soccer :)) team is way ahead in utilization of technology to enhance their players abilities and help prevent injuries.       Museum at Academia for a bit of culture- lots of painting of last supper that were rescued(?) from churches in town. Some really old 14c stuff and some more recent restored items. Amazing brushwork and huge alter pieces some with bible stories that were new to me. Spent arvo wandering lanes and canals. Pizza at same restaurant. ...

      ... narrow lanes and perfect opportunities to get shots of Lake Como. The village also has a couple of gardens and we briefly visited one of these attached to one of Varenna's up-market hotels which we inadvertently wandered into while in search of lunch.

      Our other trip out was to the gardens at Villa Carlotta. These were alright but we have seen better and we thought that the entrance price of 9 euros per person was a little steep.

      ... is a "forest" of Gothic spires with carved statues, angels, gargoyles and views of all of Milan. This is the third largest church in the world, it took almost 430 years to build, starting in 1386. There are 3500 exterior statues carved out of the marble columns and spires.
