... that being abroad is not going to be one emotion for an entire semester. It's life, and like life, it has its mountains and its valleys, but the journey is determined by where my sights are set. I plan on making this experience one to look back on with smiles, one that I know will continue to shape me, as all the experiences in my life have so far.

Thanks for coming along on my journey through this amazing city, and the world upon which it rests!

Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands aspinmasterI had never been in a country where I completely could not speak the language until Switzerland. I was completely at a loss and found it very exciting and challenging. Italy was much more familiar because I could sometimes relate it to Spanish, but not always. So once we got to Spain, it was a happy relief to really be able to speak to people again.

We arrived by ferry and left soon after on a bus to Huesca, where we met a friend of mine to go with us ...
Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain and Canary Islands leahedw... makes Barcelona a unique city. It had been a long walk up to the cathedral and we were at the farthest point of our walk of the city. We were ready for our walk back thru the city and eventually thru the harbor to our ship. As we return we can see the Tore AGBAR building at the end of one large boulevard. It is a Glass Bullet like building that stands out amidst the cityscape of Barcelona, the city that has the old, the new and the very special Barcelonan style. Back we walked ...
Barcelona, Spain danharrietThe day got off to a late start. Millis and I did a little workout in the POS gym in the residence, but it was cool nonetheless. We made our way to school and of course grabbed a kebab before class. We took a picture with our 2 best friends who had been stuffing our stomachs for the entire week. With Marcos, we talked about solely about colloquial Spanish, which pleased our class. I struggled to get through Chelo's class ...
Barcelona, Spain jakester21... A lot of confusing and boring **** happened after this but worth mentioning is that Napoleon occupied Catalonia during the Napolianic wars and it was annexed to France. After this Catalonia and Barcelona's history are more or less just the a subsection of the history of Spain itself and I don't really care to explain The civil war and Franco and all the rest. Our trip to Barcelona began when we left Meribel at around 8:00 in the morning on October 4th. There was ...

Barcelona, Spain bpadnuk... house, we were all amazed this house, not only the colours and the what everything was made of but the fact that apart from the stairs there were no straight lines, everything was curved, the doors included. Each room, although it may have been on the ground floor, had access to natural light. We had an audio guide so we learnt a bit more about the history and Gaudi's thoughts. The roof top was stunning again, with ...
Barcelona, Spain prueandben... I was up and about, walking around this large metropolis. Michael & Heidi joined me in Barcelona Wednesday night. My hotel was about 5 km´s from theirs, I was further east and close to the beach while they were north of the main shopping districts. And, talk about shops. This place is made for chicks with cash. I was astounded by the number of shops for clothes and other necessary chick things but I didn´t know they lvoed their darn shoes here. I thought that was ...
Barcelona, Spain gazzgazz2005We arrived in Barcelona on April 8. The kids finally got to see the apartment we rented for our stay (or the first year of our stay) in Barcelona. Overall, they liked it. So after we shopped until we dropped for all sorts of stuff that we needed for the house, on Wednesday, April 12 we decided to go and explore outside Barcelona. First trip was to a cave that we (ok I) found information about, on the Internet. The Cave of Fontrabiouse. At the heart of the Capcir ...
