    Overnight for Rome Escape

    Reviewed Nov 7, 2012

Stayed overnight in preparation for trip to Rome. Hotel was a great location to enable relaxed access to flight - 5 minute walk to all check-ins. Hotel staff very competent and pleasant, providing all the assistance we required, including details of long-term and short term parking possibilities.

Dinner at night was enjoyable and of good quality for hotel food. Did not stay for breakfast. Lounge area was un-rushed, providing good location for evening drinks.

Room was of good size, clean and well presented.

... we walked the shopping area for awhile in a fruitless search for Ecco comfort shoes. Despite web suggesting otherwise, there is only one store- in Paris. Seems not only do French women not get fat, they don't do comfort shoes! Heels only, please. After our long and warm walk we went back to the ship to relax in air con. That night the crew performed their entertaining show, which included a pretty impressive juggling performance by our Indonesian ...

... to not be too rushed. We didn't see much of Nice other than the walk to and from the train station. We picked up our rental car and the desk clerk tried to up sell is to a convertible but we declined - good thing because it rained almost our entire time driving in France. This time we got a Lancia Ypsilon. Again a 1.2L engine so not enough power to really drive the 130km/h speed limit on the Autoroutes. A little bit into our trip we hear this loud sound driving ...

... in Paris tonight that is a point of appeal. Wandering through another restaurant district we find it just as busy, so we head back to our area. It's getting later, about 9:00PM, so we are hoping numbers have thinned out. Sure enough, our neighbors at "Tire Bouchon" have removed the sign from their window, and when we ask they apologise that there will be a twenty minute wait — not a problem for us as we're not yet ravenous after our big lunch. After free ...

... how much of a waste of my time it is when stupid French people do this to me!?! You're not my only customers, the restaurant is full of people just as equally annoying, with just as equally annoying questions, and why do you think your annoying question is more important than there's!?! For GOD sake!!! Our restaurant is getting increasingly popular too. Most times I've worked I've been run off my feet. They can certainly do with having more people on on weekends ...
