After that we kept walking around different parts of the city before heading back to our room to spruce up a bit before heading out to get some dinner. We found a crazy cheap Spanish buffet which was only €10 for a full buffet and 2 drinks! So cheap! It was so good though. After a lot of paella and good chat we went back to the hotel for an early night ready to explore Madrid ...

The door is narrow so that the expensive fixtures cannot be taken out through the door by a thief. Ownership of the shop passes ...

It was 95 F so headed back to our hotel after enjoying a gelato. After a hotel rest we took a street walk and found a charming street Café Varale. We are starting to eat like locals already. (Guide books would lead you to believe no one dines until 10 PM. Simply not true in Madrid, but there are certainly lots a people eating at that time. Don't the kids ever go to bed?)

It was a great first day in Madrid.
