    ... along through the villages with their lochs and moorings, before we started the almighty mother of a climb, up an almighty mother of a hill, to visit Sancerre. It's a beautifully historic town, off the track, and high above the river, on a mountain peak. All the slopes were covered in vineyards, and the abbey at the top, the little town, and the views were amazing. Well worth the climb.
