Our second-last vacation day. We were up early at our Days Inn room in Jamestown ... not the most comfortable bed, plus the hotel is rather noisy -- not from the clientele -- from the doors, the showers, the toilets flushing, the bathroom fans. We packed up and were over at the Perkins by 8 am. Passed on the hotel-offered Continental Breakfast - advertised as "from 7 to 10 or until supplies last" (! not a big motel, how hard can it be to have a pile of donuts and a pot or two of coffee out?" ...
Prior Lake, Minnesota, United States beverlyksWe were up early in our suite at the Mystic Lake Casino Resort... waiting for our room service breakfast. It was huge ... and part of our package. By 9:30 am we were on our way, heading north. It took an hour to get through Minneapolis-St. Paul. Saturday morning traffic on Memorial Day Weekend was quite busy ... I guess everyone was heading out of the city, too. I was surprised that the traffic didn't really let up all the way to Duluth. We arrived in Duluth and got our first glimpse of Lake ...

We arrived mid afternoon in Bloomington. We passed the Mall to go register at our hotel. We stayed at Staybridge Suites just west of the Mall. It is a super nice place and they offer a full breakfast in the morning. Also every room is a suite with a ...
Bloomington, Minnesota, United States maryandtim... we had to weave through the other drivers. We met Aleen for dinner at Trieu Chau, a local Vietnamese restaurant in St. Paul. I ate Bun Rieu while Susan had Bun Bo Hue and Aleen ate the vegetable soup. We made it to Hung and Lien's at 8:30 PM exhausted but ready to see what Minneapolis has to offer since this is our first time to go sightseeing here.
We will be seeing the Mall of America...
I'm frantically trying to work through my 3 page list of things to do before I go. Setting up a travel blog was one of the things on my list. Hopefully this will work as a great way to share stories and photos will all our friends and family back home. This seems pretty easy so far. My next task is a little more complicated...buying another swim suit. Why did I wait until 48 hours before departure to tackle this monumental task?
Off to MOA!

... It is Las Vegas after all. Going to be staying for 7 nights and I am bringing a good friend of mine. We hope to gamble the nights away and take in some of those girly shows. Sounds like fun! Wish me luck
... ceremony and inauguration party. I went over to a table that was adorned with lots of French flair and decorations, and a hostess offered me a glass of champagne. It was so good! I then made my way over to another table full of Parisian o'dourves and appetizers. In between eating and people watching, I looked up and noticed Carl Eller from the ...
Bloomington, Minnesota, United States summerflowers73... I had forgotten to take ibuprofen before the race. My knees, hips and ankles were really starting to ache. I asked the medics at mile 14 if they had any, but no, all they had to offer was blister stuff. At that moment, when I had thought all hope was lost, there again was Jasai and Annika asking what I needed. After running a few yards with me and making me smile through the pain, they were off to get the needed pain relief. As I continued on my way I talked to a few people ...
