Well I kind of cheated; I got lucky enough to find a French friend heading home to Toulouse for the weekend, and I paid him what I would have paid using covoiturage, and he was nice enough to take me all the way to my hotel by the airport, rather than dumping me off in the city with no clue how to navigate. Way better. I guess I will get to experience the real thing some other time.

I have finally arrived in France, and am completely overwhelmed! I think because I have been looking forward to this for so long and now it is finally here, it is like it really isn't happening. Hard to believe I only have three weeks to go. After a few hours in the car we made it to Toulouse and met our wonderful host Juan who gave us an excellent overview of the city and where to go and how to get there (gee AirBnB.com is great - an AMAZING resource). We took a late night train into the city and had a true French dinner (bouchon style - basically all meat) at Restaurant L'Entrecote.
